Yesterday we learned that the beloved Network DVD have gone into administration. Since 2000, Network have been responsible for restoring and releasing not just some of the most beloved TV shows and films from yesteryear but also for bringing shows which might also have fallen into obscurity back into the public consciousness.
Classic dramas like Public Eye and The Mind of Mr JG Reeder would arguably never have found the renown they have come to enjoy in recent years without the sterling efforts of Network. Similarly, higher profile shows like The Goodies, The Sweeney, The Professionals and Monty Python’s Flying Circus have been given new leases of life thanks to the superlative restoration work from Network.
Most recently, Network had embarked on a restoration program for the Hammer film series; an initiative which sadly now seems to have come to a premature end.
Our sincere condolences to everyone who worked at Network over the years. The importance of the work you have done for classic TV and film aficionados cannot be understated.
