In celebration of the release of his latest film, Asteroid City, acclaimed director Wes Anderson has opened two pop-up shops in London. The first, located at Lush Studio in Soho, is a gift shop selling a range of Asteroid City-themed products, including bath bombs, soaps, shower gels, and slushies. The second, located at 180 The Strand, is a more immersive experience, complete with a 1950s diner and film sets.
The Lush Studio pop-up is designed to look like a pastel-colored cafe, with servers at the tiled bar serving up free slushies for visitors. The space is also filled with Asteroid City-themed merchandise, including a limited-edition four-piece collection that includes a bath bomb, soap, shower gel, and shower jelly.
The 180 The Strand pop-up is a more ambitious affair, taking up two floors of the building. The ground floor is home to a 1950s diner, complete with red booths, jukebox, and waitresses in pink uniforms. The second floor is a film set, with props and costumes from Asteroid City on display.
Both pop-up shops are open for five weeks, from June 8 to July 13. The Lush Studio pop-up is open from 12pm to 6pm on weekdays, while the 180 The Strand pop-up is open from 10am to 6pm daily.
The pop-up shops are sure to be a hit with fans of Wes Anderson. The director’s films are known for their distinctive visual style, and the pop-ups are a great way to experience that style up close. Whether you’re a fan of Anderson’s films or just looking for a fun and unique shopping experience, the pop-up shops are definitely worth a visit.
In addition to the pop-up shops, there are a number of other events taking place in London in celebration of the release of Asteroid City. On June 23, the film will have its world premiere at the Odeon Leicester Square. There will also be a number of special screenings and events taking place throughout the city.
